Robert Christian Jones is 45 years old, grew up in Texas politics and, although he has lived in the nation’s capital since 1991, still calls Austin home.

Known to his friends as Chris, Jones served in the U. S. Navy from 1984 -1988 as a Yeoman and then Intelligence Specialist-Analyst. He was stationed at US Naval Station Roosevelt Roads in Puerto Rico, and also on the USS Blue Ridge, where he was detached to the Seventh Fleet Intelligence Department (N2).

He has experience on Capitol Hill dating back to 1991, first working as an intern for Congressman Jack Brooks (D-TX) and later as a Staff Assistant for Congressman and Majority Whip David Bonior (D-MI). In 1994, he worked on the Ann Richards for Governor campaign in Austin, Texas.

In between political and government employment, Jones temped at various staffing agencies, both in Austin and Washington, DC. The challenges, frustrations and rewards he encountered in these work experiences led Jones to originate the concept of PoliTemps, a Legislative, Government and Political Temporary Staffing Service.

PoliTemps is designed to provide organizations with top-quality, professional personnel who, in addition to possessing unsurpassed communications, administrative and computer skills, are also politically astute. As President & CEO, Jones oversees the business development, marketing and management activities of the Company.

Since 1996, PoliTemps has tripled in size and has added three full time staffers. The firm counts among its clients a premier roster of the top political consultants, PR firms, associations and non-profits in the DC area. PoliTemps has been featured in numerous newspapers, political resource guides and publications as a reliable source for news and information regarding politics, people, campaigns and jobs. He is also a Managing Partner of CapitolWorks, a public affairs executive search firm.

Chris is a member of American Association of Political Consultants, the American Staffing Association, and a Certified Staffing Professional.

Jones is married to Lisa Jacobson, has two active daughters and lives in Chevy Chase, Maryland.
